Privacy Policy

Amethyst is a marketplace for buying and selling K-pop photocards. We collect only what we need to provide the service and we don't sell your data.

Account. Email address, username, display name, bio, and Instagram handle. Your email is used for authentication and is not shared with other users.

Profile media. Avatar and banner photos you upload.

Listings. Photos, description, price, and catalog selections (group, member, album) for items you list for sale.

Messages. Conversations between buyers and sellers. Messages are private between participants.

Transactions. Purchase history, shipping addresses, and shipment proof photos or videos. Shipping addresses are stored for order fulfillment and can be managed in your address book.

Payments. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, bank account details, or other sensitive financial information.

Reviews. Star ratings, optional text, and optional photos left after completed transactions.

Device information. Push notification tokens (to send you notifications) and crash reports (to fix bugs). We do not track your location.

We use your information to operate the marketplace: displaying listings, facilitating messages between buyers and sellers, processing transactions, sending notifications about your orders, and diagnosing crashes or errors.

We use the following services to operate Amethyst:

• Stripe: payment processing and seller payouts
• Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage
• Sentry: crash reporting and error tracking
• Expo: push notifications and app updates

Each service receives only the data necessary for its function. Their respective privacy policies govern their handling of that data.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared only with the service providers listed above, and only to the extent needed to operate the app.

Other users can see your public profile (username, display name, avatar, bio, listings, and reviews). Your email address and shipping addresses are never shown to other users, except that a shipping address is shared with the seller when you make a purchase.

All connections to our servers use encryption in transit. Database access is protected by row-level security policies that ensure users can only access their own data. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers. Uploaded files are stored in private storage buckets with access controls.

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, listings, messages, and uploaded media. Transaction records may be retained as required for legal, financial, or dispute resolution purposes.

Amethyst is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
